Inpatient Geriatric

A Mental Illness is a condition that affects a person’s thinking, feeling or mood. Such conditions may affect someone’s ability to relate to others and function each day. Each person will have different experiences, even people with the same diagnosis.

The inpatient services of WellBridge Healthcare provide compassionate and comprehensive mental healthcare exclusively to adults 50 years of age and older. Most of the patients we treat are feeling better and return home within about two weeks.

Many people are surprised to learn that mental illness can be a normal part of the aging process. In fact, over 20 percent of us will experience mental illness at some point in our lives. Severe depression, dementia, psychosis and other conditions are often misunderstood and evoke profound fear and anxiety among sufferers and their loved ones. At WellBridge, we believe that by helping patients and their families to understand the causes, symptoms, and treatments of mental illness, we can dispel worry, restore quality of life, and light a clear path of hope.

Innovation, dignity, and professional collaboration are the hallmarks of the WellBridge treatment approach. Our experienced team of psychiatrists, medical internists, psychologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, mental health technicians, and support staff work closely together to provide truly individualized care. We are passionate geriatric psychiatry specialists utilizing and pioneering the latest and most effective therapies to help patients more quickly and more effectively regain quality of life and overall well-being. Here, we believe that by educating patients, family members, caregivers and the public at large about mental illness and the promise of treatment, we can dispel the fear these conditions can cause, and lead more people to get help and have hope.

We work to bring peace and promise to patients and families through expert delivery and management of complete psychiatric care. Our inpatient programs seek to:

  • Enable more rational and productive behavior for older adults
  • Deescalate mental health disorders to restore patient quality of life and regain productive functioning
  • Foster peace of mind for patients and families that mental health is being comprehensively and proactively managed
  • Allow a return to previous living arrangement as quickly as possible–often within about two weeks
